Hiring Timeline:

Internship – Historical trends in federal government hiring show summer internship application deadlines are typically in November and are highly competitive, with the bulk of government summer intern consulting offers made in February/March each year.  An outlier of note is the White House Fellows application, which opens each year in November and closes in early January.

Full Time – Graduating students seeking full time roles after graduation can expect state and local governments around the country to hire year-round. Full time federal government offers are made throughout the year, with exception of the FBI and Secret Service which make offers in late fall (November).
