Fall recruiting season is packed with opportunities both from leaders and niche organizations from across health industry sectors – Abbott, Amgen, AbbVie, Chartis, Eli Lilly, Medtronic, Thermo Fisher UnitedHealthcare Group, and ZS Associates to name a few. These employers are hiring for a variety of functions within consulting, marketing, finance, product development and business strategy that create an opportunity for joining your business acumen with your healthcare expertise. Employers look for proven interest in the healthcare industry within all business functions that graduate degrees offer like strategic decision making, critical thinking and data analysis.
Traditional hiring trends are seen this fall with companies posting their full time, internship and leadership program applications generally due end of October through November, first round interviews in November-December and second rounds in January. There are additional employers that will continue to post internship and full-time roles throughout early spring depending upon their hiring timelines, so keep that perspective in mind when researching your companies of interest.
Important to note is that some organizations are conducting internship interviews in November through January, to capture those qualified candidates that may not be willing to wait until later in the spring for their decision. Many of the US employers require permanent work authorization, however those organizations that have international presence may require you to have work authorization for the country where you are placed.
