Can you believe it’s only week 3 of Fall 1? A few reminders as recruiting ramps up
- You have time
- Whether you’re a first year MBA looking for an internship, an AM student pursuing practical experience, or a 2026 graduate looking for your post-SOM role – it’s still early
- Some classmates are already interviewing, having coffee chats, attending events, and maybe even getting offers – that doesn’t mean you need to be/ all depends on individual interests and goals
- It’s not a race
- Take care of yourself – sleep, food, exercise, and time doing whatever replenishes you will go far
- How you show up matters
- What makes SOM strong is your collaboration and how well you support each other – thank you!
- Come prepared, be professional, ask thoughtful questions (ones not answered on their website), and respect the intended audience (if it’s not you, wait to ask your questions or ask for a follow up conversation with one of the alumni or recruiters)
- Be mindful that alumni and recruiters may be in the building daily; notice your conversations and who’s around
- Get to know the CDO
- Use the CDO Website – it’s packed with resources
- Make an appointment in CMS or stop by Open Hour (M-TH, 11:30am-1:00pm)
- Follow #cdo-coaches in Slack (and your class and industry channels)
- Email som.cdo@yale.edu with any questions – or reach out to me directly
- Use the new anonymous CDO “Comments Box.” (Link in Slack and CDO lobby)
Fall is quite the rollercoaster. Hang on and enjoy the ride!
