Swensen Fellowship Information Session

Would you like to learn the skills of a top-tier strategy consultant, while working in the service of a client you know and love: Yale University?

If so, we invite you to apply to be a Swensen Fellow in the Office of Strategic Analysis. We consider and welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds and Yale schools.

The Office of Strategic Analysis works on the most complex strategic challenges facing Yale, providing analysis and guidance that enable university leaders to make decisions that best advance Yale’s mission. Topics might include defining and measuring excellence, setting priorities, improving performance and allocating scarce resources across Yale. Swensen Fellows receive broad exposure to strategic analysis at Yale and build their leadership skills. Fellows contribute to defining and completing strategic projects, including identifying issues and solutions, designing and executing research, collaborating with stakeholders and decision-makers to understand their objectives and challenges, and preparing and presenting research output.

We are currently hiring for two positions:

  • Full-time fellowships: This is a salaried, full-time position planned for two years in length. Longer‐term roles at the university are possible post-fellowship. This position is open to applicants who will have graduated from Yale by the summer of 2025. Compensation is $85,000-$95,000 per year based on experience.
  • Summer internships: This is a paid, full-time internship open to students in their penultimate year of study (Class of ‘25.5 or ’26). Summer internships are typically 10 weeks in length. Preference will be given to students who are interested in a full-time position after the completion of their internship. Compensation for summer interns is $10,000 for the summer.
