HireSOM events are Yale SOM-hosted networking events that connect students with multiple employers who have active hiring needs in one event. These events occur in both virtual and in-person formats and are free for employers and students.

To participate in a Yale SOM-hosted virtual networking event on Zoom, you will need to be logged in with a pre-existing Zoom account or create a free account on Zoom.com. The event link will be shared with all registered employers and students in the days leading up to the event.

Information Sessions are typically more structured sessions that include information sharing about an employer and role, with q&a at the end. Ask Me Anything sessions are open-format where attending students can ask the employer representative anything on their mind, from company culture to how to succeed in the interview process. We recommend sharing presentation decks and standard information in advance and focusing your time with students on building interpersonal connections by answering questions and sharing why you love where you work, what you do, and the impact you have.

Students are open to both formats! Hosting an event at Evans Hall (home to Yale SOM) is easy, and allows for media services support, catering, and underground parking. Learn more under the Visit Evans Hall section of our Employer page.

If hosting virtually, students navigate all virtual platforms.

Students look forward to speaking with you anytime! Ideal times to host an event with students fall between 11:45am – 12:45pm ET, 5:45pm – 6:45pm ET, or 7pm ->. Note that events starting at 7pm ET do not have a hard end time, and thus are ideal for networking receptions. Additionally, early morning and late evening are options ideal for virtual sessions hosted in other time zones.
