POSITION DESCRIPTION
The MBA Internship will be structured around one or more consulting-like projects that drive impact, with active mentorship, direct coaching, and very frequent interactions with the CEO and the Executive Team. To the greatest degree possible, the specific project will be tailored to the intern’s interests and experience and could span: growth and competitive strategy for an existing or new business line; operations strategy to improve service and cost; or digital strategy in order to drive volume growth.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Complete work on assigned project (Potential MBA Intern Project List document provided separately)
· Managing and/or participating on cross function teams
· Assisting with the organization’s long-term vision and planning process
· Evaluating organizational or business line performance & develop plans for improvement
· Assessing all aspects of competitive landscape to design & recommend strategies to compete more effectively
· Upon completion of assigned project, prepare and present project findings and recommendations to Bloodworks leadership
· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
· Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as written.

Requirements
Education & Experience:
· Current enrollment in a Masters of Business Administration program
· Minimum of two years’ leadership or leadership consulting experience
· Experience working in industries related to Bloodworks business lines (highly preferred)

Working Conditions
· This is a paid temporary employee position with an expected duration of 10-14 weeks.
· Incumbent must reside in Washington or Oregon during their employment with Bloodworks
· Report to and work directly with Bloodworks’ CEO on a daily basis.
· Fast-paced, with deliverables focused to drive near-term decisions and impact.
· Substantial mentorship by CEO, with commitment to professional development.
· Telecommuting, or virtual working, is available occasionally for this role. However, work on site at Bloodworks’ Seattle location is required primarily. Travel expenses incurred commuting to the Bloodworks location are not eligible for business expense reimbursement.
· Job conditions to be expected include extensive, close work with computer screens.
· Bloodworks is a community-supported nonprofit organization. As such, from time-to-time incumbent can expect to work with volunteers.
· This position has indirect exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
