OVERVIEW
The D. E. Shaw group seeks talented individuals who are currently pursuing a joint JD/MBA to join the firm’s Fundamental Equities or Credit Opportunities group as interns. This role offers a collegial working environment and the chance to collaborate with an accomplished and innovative team in the investment management sector. This is a ten-week program that will take place in New York and is expected to run from June to August 2026.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY
- Research, analyze, and perform due diligence on specific companies and industry sectors to help the team assess potential investments.
- Stay up to date on current news and trends, read company reports, and analyze data from a variety of traditional and alternative sources.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Candidates currently enrolled in a full-time JD/MBA program, entering their third or fourth year at the time of the internship, with a proven record of academic and professional achievement.
- A passion for public markets investing and a demonstrated aptitude for financial modeling and analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to analyze new investment ideas while also contributing original ideas.
- The position offers a monthly base salary of $21,000, overtime pay, a sign-on bonus of $15,000, travel coverage to and from the internship, and choice of furnished summer housing or a $10,000 housing allowance. It also includes a $3,300 stipend for self-study materials and a $4,000 stipend for personal technology equipment. If you have any questions about the compensation, please ask one of our recruiters.
