We invite ambitious, high-achieving Masters and MBA students to join our summer internship program as Management Consulting Mentors. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of consulting while learning from industry experts who have previously worked with renowned firms such as EY, BCG, and McKinsey. By becoming a Consulting Mentor, you will guide undergraduate teams through real-world client projects, contributing to their growth and the success of their projects and gaining management and global consulting experience.
Our Consulting Projects: Encompass diverse sectors, including retail, financial services, sustainability, and more, serving a wide range of clients from global corporations to innovative startups. Notable past clients have included the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Xago Technologies, Hear.com, iiDENTIFii, 4WKS, and Broadreach. As a Management Consulting Mentor, you will lead a student team working on a client project.
Responsibilities include:
● Attend mandatory training sessions in mid-May 2026
● Mentor a group of students (maximum of 6-7) as part of diiVe’s Consulting Internship (which runs from June 1st – July 31st 2026)
● Attend weekly touch-points (twice per week, ongoing during the internship) and weekly diiVe internal team meetings (once weekly).
● Manage consulting project, providing guidance, oversight, risk management alongside the support of the diiVe team
● Engage in client meetings alongside your team and the client and manage client relationship
● Conduct quality control on all student deliverables before they are submitted to the client
● Ensure project deliverables are met, monitor team progress, assist individual team members, and offer general mentorship.
Who We Are Looking For: Our Management Consulting Mentor position is tailored for postgraduate students seeking hands-on management experience and international exposure. While prior consulting experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We are particularly interested in candidates who:
● Have 2-3 years of relevant work experience (prior consulting experience is a plus)
● Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, Engineering, Political Science, or International Relations.
● Are currently pursuing or having recently completed their Masters or MBA program
● Possess demonstrated project management and team leadership skills.
● Exhibit a strong passion for solving complex business and organizational challenged through innovative thinking
● Have demonstrated leadership in social organizations, internships, or previous employment.
● Showcase excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Thrive in collaborative team environments
● Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.
● Adaptable and self-starter.
Note about compensation: The salary band for this role is between 25,000 to 30,000 South African Rands for part time work over two months (i.e. 4-5 hours per day for 8 weeks over June/July 2025), which is equivalent to $1,300 USD.
