Headquartered in Downtown Houston, the Golden Pass LNG organization expects to double in size over the next several years as we complete the project, commence natural gas trading activities, and ramp up towards full LNG production. Once full operations commence, Golden Pass LNG will become the second largest consumer of natural gas in the US and produce more than 200 cargos of LNG per annum.
Job Summary / Purpose
Reporting into the Lead Product Control Analyst, the Product Control Analyst is responsible for supporting the Product Control function within Golden Pass, specifically around all Natural Gas Supply and Optimization. This role involves assisting with LNG Plant Modeling, LNG sales, LNG inventory, Heavy Hydrocarbon inventory, and Sales. The Product Control Analyst will work closely with various teams, including Front Office, Risk, Logistics, Plant Operations, Compliance, Legal and IT, to understand Supply and Optimization strategies, pricing, risk management, and regulatory implications.
Essential Duties / Functions
- Support the Lead Product Control Analyst in the implementation of Golden Pass’ ETRM LNG system and continuous improvements for Natural Gas Supply and Commercial LNG.
- Assist in Daily Position and P&L reconciliation for natural gas.
- Monitor commodity activities against approved limits and escalate/resolve as required.
- Assist and validate period end closes for commodity related valuations.
- Ensure compliance with Golden Pass and regulatory/legal policies and procedures
- Collaborate with various teams to resolve trade or position discrepancies and ensure compliant commodity operations.
- Act as key control by independently evaluating the Daily PnL of the GPLNG trading business, ensuring curves and positions are validated
- Fully supports company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Finance, Data Analytics, or a related technical field
Minimum experience required of the position
- 1-2 years of experience in commodity mid-office controls experience in within the North American Energy market.
- Experience with ETRM implementations in the natural gas trading and marketing or gas supply business is a plus.
- Experience working in a commodity trading environment with a focus on control, compliance, and independence.
- Familiarity with accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Technical Competency – Ability to understand complex gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements, as well as LNG offtake/sales agreements.
- Communication – Able to communicate complex commodity activities and results clearly and concisely.
- Partnership & Team Building – Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships and seamless interfaces across the business, including front, middle and back office teams as well as with senior management
- Systems -Proficiency in ETRM systems, Excel, data visualization tools, and financial systems and databases.
- Perspective – Maintains a professional network to stay informed about internal strategies and external finance and risk issues.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
- CPA, MBA, MS Finance, CFA preferred but not required.
