About Moola Money
Moola Money is a B2C fintech startup helping millennials in the UK take control of their finances through a personalized, data-driven platform. We are building a product that will provide users with insights into their financial health, tailored recommendations, and tools to improve their financial outcomes. We are looking for an MBA intern to support our financing strategy, product roadmap, and regulatory planning. You would have significant influence in the earliest phases of product development and strategy by helping to build a B2C Fintech product ground up.
The founding team consists of a CEO (Managing director of an asset management company, ex-McKinsey retail banking practice engagement manager), COO (VP Ops and chief of staff roles in startups, former Magic Circle lawyer) and CTO (co-founder and Senior Software Engineer in startups, ex-banking dev). You would be reporting directly to the CEO who splits time between Berlin and London on a hybrid basis (potential for in-person co-working or remote, depending on the applicant).
Role Overview
We are seeking an MBA Part-Time Intern to work closely with the founding team on funding strategy, product development, and monetization planning. This role will focus on:
- Exploring financing options, including grants and alternative funding sources.
- Defining the operational and regulatory roadmap for new product features.
- Developing monetization strategies (e.g., affiliate marketing, premium features).
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone eager to gain experience in early-stage fintech, covering both strategic and execution-focused work.
Key Responsibilities
- Monetization & Growth Strategy:
- Work directly with the CEO to assess different revenue models and pricing strategies.
- Conduct market research on best practices for fintech affiliate programs and partnerships.
- Analyze user data to refine Moola’s monetization and feature rollout plans.
- Financing & Grants:
- Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants and fintech-specific funds.
- Lead grant applications and other funding proposals.
- Product & Regulatory Planning:
- Work with the CTO and COO to outline the operational and regulatory roadmap for future features (e.g., affiliate marketing, premium services).
- Research UK fintech regulations relevant to Moola’s planned monetization strategies.
- Provide insights on compliance requirements for financial product recommendations.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing an MBA.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience in market research and modeling.
- Interest in fintech, product strategy, and digital business models.
- Previous experience in consulting, finance, product management, or startups is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in grant writing, regulatory research, or fintech business models is a strong plus.
