SOM Student Clubs

The Black Business Alliance (BBA) works to promote dialogue and activities that will increase SOM community awareness of and responsiveness to issues of importance to minorities. The initiative of the group falls into five categories: cultural enrichment, networking, alumni relationships, recruitment and mentoring. It brings alumni and other speakers on campus, and organizes other professional and social events.

The BBA has an internal and external facing obligation to the Yale SOM Community:

Internal
1. Professional: connecting our members with Yale SOM alumni as well as providing them with the resources to succeed during their job search and ultimately, their internship. In addition, providing broad exposure to current professionals of African descent, who are successful in business

2. Social: connecting our members which each other as well as the members of their class that are interested in black related issues. In addition, reaching out to the Yale network to improve the network

External
3. Admissions: recruiting students who are from Africa, African Americans and those interested in black business related issues
