Foster connection with students by hosting an event that conveys what is valued by your organization and answers student questions.
- Share informational content (introductory presentations, video walk-throughs of the offices, web resources, etc.) in advance
- Focus the event time on sharing why your organization is a great place to work, the impact of the work, and what is valued in candidates and employees
- Events can be held virtually, on campus in Evans Hall, or off campus at a location of your choosing
- Use of Evans Hall space and Media Services support is provided at no cost to the employer
Start with one of the formats below or suggest a new format!
- ‘Ask Me Anything’ – no agenda, open-format which allows students to ask employer representatives anything on their mind, from company culture to how to succeed in the interview process. AMA sessions are open to all registrants and schedule for 30-60 minutes.
- Open Hours/ Office Hours session – drop-in events that allow students to quickly connect with an employer, alumnus, and/ or recruiter to have their personal questions addressed. While open to all and often scheduled for 30-60 minutes, a student may join and may leave at any time.
- Coffee Chats – Typically 1:1 or 1:2 informational interviews that last 20-30 minutes; students register for preferred time slot via 12twenty or an employer-managed process. Coffee chats are the most personal event type.
- Alumni or Functional panel – host a q&a panel of 2-4 representatives around a central theme or topic. Panels are a great way to attract candidates with specific interests, skills, etc. and to highlight an important function or exciting initiative at the organization.
- Information Session + Networking – typically begins with a short structured session and presentation, followed by opportunities to connect with representatives either casually or during a more formal networking reception. Depending on the number of participants, these connections range in size from 1:1 to small group.
- Case Workshop – interactive session to showcase real-life examples of work, how teams collaborate and/ or how initiatives are tackled
- Senior Leadership ‘Fireside Chat‘ – invite students to hear from senior leadership in a smaller-format setting. This format can be combined with post-chat networking.
