CDO Tips for Professional Development
When tapping into former employees/former summer interns who are current Yale SOM students:
It is tempting to ask former employees to promote your organization on campus and to provide insights into recruiting. This works well when students feel empowered to opt in or decline such roles without pressures. While these former employees may enhance recruiting strategies and communications, they should not play a role in selecting candidates for interviews or offers.
Reaching out to students via resume books:
This is a favored technique when used appropriately. It’s a great way to introduce your organization to students, invite them personally to events, and encourage them to apply to your open roles. However, it is contrary to our terms of use to pull resumes to solicit students as potential clients or customers of your goods/ services.
